Tetra City
Welcome
Welcome to Tetra City, a side-on city-builder where you stack buildings, combine bonuses, and grow your city.
This game is NOT made exclusively by me (mondobe aka Aiden)!! It is being developed throughout the Fall 2024 semester by a very talented team of gamedevs at Georgia Tech, under my leadership.
The source code for this game (made in Godot with GDScript) is available here.
How to Play
You are the mayor of Tetra City, an experimental floating island civilization run by the mad scientist Hurst. You have 60 days' worth of fuel before the island falls to the ground. Your goal is to make as much money as possible and buy the Nuclear Reactor to keep Tetra City afloat permanently.
Press the large arrow panels (or press TAB) to swap between Ground View and Sky View. In Ground View, you can view your city and place buildings. In Sky View, you can buy new buildings.
Buildings arrive in your city on hot-air balloons. In Sky View, click on a building to find out its price and other information. After buying a building, you can place it using Tetris mechanics:
- Press A and D (or the left and right arrow keys) to move the building from side to side
- Press Q and E to rotate the building
- Press S (or the down arrow key) to move the building down one space
- Press W (or the up arrow key) to "hard drop" the building several spaces
Press "End Day" to advance to the next day. At the start of each day, new balloons appear, old ones float away, and buildings in your city pay out coins.
Each building has a different function in your city. Combine buildings and experiment with different strategies to create the ultimate money-making metropolis!
